Methacrylate for the best restaurant in the world.
Traditional architecture resurfaces in a sustainable project for Espacio Àgora del Cellar de Can Roca.
We are proud to announce our participation in this unique project. Oriol Roselló, from the Bangolo studio, has been the architect in charge of designing the new banquet hall at the Celler. It has done so with very clear premises: sustainability, respect for the environment and tradition. As in the Roca brothers’ kitchen, this project has been a complex exercise in hybridizing traditional and contemporary processes.
As in traditional architecture, the project sought solutions through the use of raw materials little manipulated and the almost exclusive use of local materials. The 4 materials that make up the Àgora are stone, wood, steel and methacrylate.
El Vitroflex methacrylate It was chosen from among other materials, for its stability over time, its transparency and malleability. With the addition that it met the requirement of being a 0 km material, since the work is only 10 km from our factory.

For this Proyect Polymer Technic has designed and produced a custom methacrylate roof tile system. The cover of the tiles ensures the tightness of the space while the articulated fixing system allows permanent ventilation of the dome.
The transparency of the methacrylate reaffirms the total connection of the Dome with the outside. And this transparency will be maintained throughout the years in this timeless building.
