REGULATIONS R118 AND R43
Vitroflex PC anti-abrasion is the polycarbonate with a hardened surface coating and similar appearance to glass, from Polimer Tecnic. It has a high resistance to breakage and abrasion, which allows its use in parts for public transport vehicles. Anti-abrasion polycarbonate has great chemical resistance, allowing it to be properly disinfected with a wide range of cleaning products.
The Vitroflex PC anti-abrasion complies with the European automotive regulations ECE R118 and ECE R43 for buses and its certification is delivered to the customer, upon request.
The European R43 standard corresponds to materials used on the outside of the vehicle in rear windows, sides, skylights … while the R118 certification corresponds to materials used inside the vehicle such as the walls of the driver’s cabin. Vitroflex polycarbonate anti-abrasion is a material suitable for use inside vehicles, in items such as partitions and outside, where it has protection against UV rays for use in skylights, windows, spotlights … At Polimer Tecnic we advise you on any project that requires R118 and R43 certification.
